The sorrow felt by betrayal is a heavy burden. One that can be incredibly difficult to bear alone.
Medusa was said to be a woman with serpent hair with wings after she was cursed. These stones look like a beautiful mixture of that concept. They have feather like markings in each stone that have a lovely light green to white shine to them that contrasts lovely with their Russian green color.
In a way when Perseus slayed Medusa, he set her free from the torment that had become her life. How cruel to be be cast out and cursed by the one she worshiped.
Some stories depict Medusa as a beautiful woman with wings when she sleeps and is unable to turn anyone to stone.
Some people cast her in the light of Me Too. In some ways people look at her in a feminist light.
However she is looked at, with what happened to her she deserved to be mad.
Being mad and madness are two sides of the same cloth. You have to pluck it out eventually or it will consume you.

35" long strand featuring seraphinite, black onyx, and black spinel. This will be finished with a sterling silver star.

Incredible hand by @madredetemor on instagram and adorned with invasive Black Swallow Wort. Of note, I found the Black Swallow Wort in my yard and had to pull it out. It's deadly to some of the most beautiful things. I drew meaning in it while considering this strand. I wrapped the vine around the hand to signify how the tangles of madness can ensnare you if you aren't careful.
