🌊 Night Swimming 33"
What is there to do in the depths after you’ve come to understand it but to explore it? Learning the ins and outs of myself. Learning the things I maybe didn’t want to casting shadows of myself and gazing into their depths. The truths I found there were not all beautiful. Some were dark and ugly. Others were pure loneliness in the shape of myself. I had been shadows of myself for too many years. Forming myself to make others happy. The worry of rejection. The anxiety of not fitting in. The rejection of not being invited out. I found them all there in the depths of that dark oblivion. It’s only after truly looking at those things I found ugly that I was able to grow and become more than I had.
In searching the shadow self and seeking the unknowns, black rutile quartz is said to be the illuminator of the soul. Let it help guide and search out those things that are negative about yourself. Find the root of those things less desirable and find forgiveness for yourself. Finding forgiveness for yourself is far more important that receiving an apology that will likely never come. Let the onyx of this strand flow through your fingers like water becoming confidence and self-control as you do your shadow work, swimming in your depths. Self-reflection can be a scary place.
“Knowing your own darkness is the best method of dealing with the darkness of other people.” Carl Jung
